π Story Time π
So Papa loved to put me on display with his friends whenever he served HalaBOS na Hipon, also known as steamed shrimp, where shrimp steams in its own juices to highlight its natural flavor. Being whole shrimp, it had the heads, which Papa taught me how to eat. Heβd urge me to demonstrate, like his personal party trick. Papa smiled with pride as I did my thing, and others were impressed with this little American girl who knew how to eat shrimp heads correctly. They were just so juicy and packed with flavor. Fast forward, I love that my kids can peel their own shrimp and eat the heads. I have that same look of pride and admiration watching them enjoy shrimp after shrimp.
